In mid July we will activate the registration form for School of Cross enrollment. If we are not able to secure enough sponsorship, we will ask participants to pay an enrollment fee to help cover insurance, race fees and other minor admin expenses.
Cross is coming... SOC typically starts up with early season gravel rides on Thursdays evenings in mid August and then transition to 5:30-7:00 pm Tue/Thurs practices starting Sep 5th. Early season gravel rides will be about 25 to 30 miles (around 2 hrs of ride time) on mixed surfaces like paved, gravel, single track, rough road, etc., Also, each ride will be different route and start at a different location in or around Spokane each week. Details will be sent out via TeamSnap APP. The plan is to get out as a group, gain some fitness, challenge ourselves and have fun as we start to prepare for the upcoming CX race season. These are no drop ride that are open to team riders, parents and coaches who can ride the distance in or around 2 hrs. (14 to 15 mph average). Please brings lights, rear blinking/small front, spare tube, water and energy snacks. Also, you will need to sign the SOC waiver before participation.
SOC uses the TeamSnap mobile app to communicate. Everyone is expected to use the app to RSVP for practice and event attendance.
Early season gravel ride practice locations and times will be coordinated via the Team Snap App. September 5 to Nov 2 practices will typically be Tuesday and Thursday 5:30 to 7:00 at Minnehaha Park close to Esmerelda Golf Course. Updates and practice details will be sent out via the Team Snap App.
School of Cross depends on sponsors and volunteers to be able to operate. All families are invited to volunteer in some way (coach, bring food/drink, support races, provide mechanical support for rides and races, etc). With sufficient sponsorship and family support, there is no cost to participate. If sufficient sponsorship is not acquired by start of the season, families will be asked to pay an enrollment fee to cover race participation fees.
