Licensed coaches guide teams that range from beginners to racers. 6th to 12th graders gain skills, endurance and friends.
Races are a blast - participation is optional, fun is mandatory.

Our region has TWO summer mountain bike teams for 6th to 12th graders. Combined practices are Mon, Wed 5:30 to 7:30 PM, Sat 9:00 to 12:00.
The Spokane NICA team enrolls riders in the Montana NICA League and includes 5 races in MT.
The BATA Bombers Team connects kids from across the region but does not include structured races.

All licensed coaches, team support and local organizers are volunteers. Fees paid cover the cost of insurance, races, certifications, national/state organizational support for teams and other expenses necessary for program operations.
For 2024 WSCL is hosting FIVE races in the Washington. 14 Apr Spokane's Riverside State Park, 28 Apr Winthrop High School, 5 May Cle Elum (fun relay), 19 May Gig Harbor and 2 Jun in Wenatchee. Races are fun team events where beginners and racers are set up to thrive.
For May and June 2024, all team members and families are encouraged to participate in the local Wednesday Night Race series at Riverside State Park. Although it is not officially part of the WSCL season, local support makes it super fun for the entire family.
All of the NICA races are hosted by the Montana Program and take place in MT. For those who can attend, these are usually fun road trips where you camp with friends from WA, ID, WY and MT.

Overlap of Summer NICA and Fall School of Cross results in more time with teammates who have become close friends. Many coaches are the same and scheduling conflicts don't really exist because people show up to what they can and everyone is happy.

Thanks to awesome support from local sponsors, events are deeply discounted for SOC kids. Everyone can participate. Beginners, racers, parents and coaches make cyclocross a fun spectator event.
