Bikesaretheanswer.org is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit founded to help kids and families thrive.
Our mission is to foster a fun and inclusive environment where students can find community and healthy competition through biking.
We focus on delivering a fun and inclusive environment because it unleashes internal motivation and drive in ways coaches and parents typically can't. We make it easy for parents and families to connect and build friendships through volunteering and coaching because everyone seems to thrive when this happens. We named ourselves bikesaretheanswer because as a tool set, biking outside with friends, in the form we are structured to deliver, helps kids and families thrive.

Scholarships/ Equipment Sponsorship
We provide need based enrollment scholarships. When cost is an issue, we work with sponsors to get kids bikes and equipment. Resources are limited but sponsors and coaches are committed to helping as much as sponsorship allows. If enrollment fees or equipment costs are keeping your student from participating, please use the scholarship request form to contact us and we will do our part to match you with available enrollment scholarships and equipment.
Whether your natural talent is in administration, building community support or on the trail coaching, helping one of the teams is usually fun and a good way to stay involved. If you are interested in being part of a team, please email us with your superpower (see below) and we will guide you to the right contacts for the specific team (season).
NOTE: To be able to participate in rides, volunteers needs to complete Level 1 coaching requirements and be able to at least keep up with 4th grade mountain bikers.

Other (anything that helps)
If you have ridden a bike and are good at making sure kids feel included, respected and part of the team, you have what it takes to become a coach. We will train you, guide you and connect you. We have beginners to performance racers so if your bike skills fall in this range, you belong with us. To participate in practice rides, parents and volunteers must complete the training needed to become a Level 1 Coach. For Spring's WSCL, approved applicants complete online concussion training, a background check, safety training, and training drawn from various educational resources, affiliations and partnerships.
For the Summer NICA program, the Level 1 registration includes a similar robust online training program before applicants can support group rides.
